Meetings

Visit to the Czech Republic:

21st - 23rd November 2017

The first meeting was held in Česká Lípa.

On Monday 20th November 2017, project coordinators and headmasters from  Finland, Poland, Latvia and Basque Country arrived in the Czech Republic for  the  first  meeting of our two-year CLIL project - Creativity, Learning, Inspiration and Language.

During our stay, we had the oportunity to scaffold the main outlines of the project: tasks, further meetings, dissemination...

The Czech school shared their CLIL experience with the rest of us . We attended lessons in different subjects and took part in various art workshops.

We presented our school to the Czech students who had already collected information about partner countries and surprised us with a wide knowledge of our culture.

Thanks to a very well organized visit we enjoyed Czech hospitality and culture. Now, we are looking forward to the next meeting in Latvia.

First students´ meeting: Latvia

18th-24th February 2018

First students´ meeting took place in Saldus. We had a well planned program ahead. Lots of workshops related to the topic were organized for both children and teachers. We all had the oportunity to observe lessons by local teachers. Partner teachers also gave lessons on different subjects. Basque taught Maths to 4th graders using CLIL approach.

We talked about the project, evaluated previous activities and agreed on further tasks. The Latvian topic was Cooking so all the schools made a presentation about the place cooking takes in their curriculum and about school canteen.

Second students´ meeting: Poland

13th- 19th May

The second meeting with students took place in Leszajk ( Poland). . It was a great experience for both students and teachers. Students had the chance to meet; to take part in many different workshops related to " modeling"; to know about Polish culture including some bases on Polish language and to attend CLIL lessons taught by international teachers in English.. Basque teachers taught Maths to 4th level and Science to 5th..You can have a look at the lesson plans by clicking here.

On the other hand, in the meetings that were organized during these days, partneres sat on the project to evaluate previous activities, to agree on the next steps and to  learn with the diffeerent presentations that were held.

Third students´ meeting: Basque Country

The third students´ meetings took place in Zeberio from 5th to 11th November. It was a great experience for everybody. Pupils not only had  workshops related to crafts  but also some CLIL lessons taught by he different teachers involved in the visit: Finland and Latvia told children about their traditions; Poland preapared a CLIL based English lesson for Primary 1st and 2nd. focused on fruits and flavours and Poland worked on Maths with the oldest group.

The group visited many emblematic places in which they learnt about Basque culture and traditions.

Teachers sat on the project to asses activities done so far, to solve some technical problems related to the common website and to remind the group about farther steps..

You can see some more pictures clicking on the photograph below.

Fourth students´ meeting: Finland

Students from the 5 schools met in Finland from 20th to 27th January. Finland was a great surprise for everybody. Everything was so different from our own place!!. We had workshops on electricity but we also had some CLIL lessons an music and culture.. The temperature was amazing ( 10 to 30 minus zero)but what was really amazing was that Finish people do the same things as we do despite the cold temperatures: they play outside, go for a walk, ride bikes and sledges....

We had the chance to ski,  ice skate, fish in the ice, and dive into the waters of a frozen lake.

An unforgettable experience full of emotions.

Fifth students´ meeting: Czech Republic

19th -25th May

Students from the five countries involved met for the last time in Ceska Lipa ( Czech Republic). As usual, we found a school that opened its doors for us and made us feel at home. After five days, most of the pupils left good friends behind  with the promise to continue contacting by phone and social media.

The programme included lots of different activities: CLIL lessons, workshops, visits, sports. ...Unfortunatelly, our project is coming to an end. Nevertheless we will always bear in mind the good moments, the emotions and the experiences we shared.
